Photosynthai ("the app", "we") is a Shopify app that generates professional product photography from a store's existing product photos. This policy describes what data the app handles and how.
Data we access
Store information: your store's domain and the access token Shopify issues when you install the app.
Product data: product titles, product images, and related product details, accessed through Shopify's API with the write_products permission you approve at install.
Data we store
Generated images: the AI-edited photos the app creates for you, stored on our servers until you remove them or uninstall the app.
Generation logs: which product and photo a generation used, the style selected, timestamps, and completion status — used to show your history and calculate plan usage.
Session data: the Shopify session records required for the app to operate inside your admin.
Customer data
The app does not access, collect, or store any data about your customers. Requests under customers/data_request and customers/redact therefore involve no data; both webhooks are implemented and acknowledged as Shopify requires.
Third-party processing
Google Gemini API: product images you select are sent to Google's Gemini image models to generate the edited versions. Google processes them under its API terms; we do not permit their use for anything other than fulfilling the generation.
Amazon Web Services: the app and its stored data are hosted on AWS in the United States (us-east-1).
Shopify: all billing is handled by Shopify's billing system; we never see or store payment details.
Data retention and deletion
You can remove any generated photo in the app at any time; its image file is deleted from our servers immediately.
Uninstalling the app deletes your session data.
When Shopify sends the shop/redact webhook (48 hours after uninstall), all remaining data for your store — generated images, logs, and billing period records — is permanently erased.
